A sympathetic deep clean of an old, loved and well gigged heirloom Gibson SG short scale bass. It wears its many years of gigging with pride, but it is being passed on to the original owner's granddaughter and I was asked to clean it up and make it more sanitary ready for passing on within the family, whilst being very careful to preserve its wonderful patina

This one is bit special! A very rare Fender Stratocaster Standard Model 2 Made in in Japan. These are vanishingly rare and were built by Fuji-Gen from March to December 1987 only.
This example is a real period piece. It was owned and played by gentleman who passed away in 2003, and has been stored in its case since. It had clearly been well looked after, with some small chips and dings but very good condition for what was a 16 year old guitar in regular use up to it’s storage. It had been modified in period to run a Koch onboard mid-boost system, hence the two micro switches beside the five way, and it was cased with some home made additional padding. Sadly it had deteriorated in storage, and when I purchased it from the gentleman’s daughter recently it was on the understanding that a restoration was required.

A little bit of general discussion about Epiphone semi-hollows, and a direct comparison between an ES335 that I have fully set up and owned for a couple of years, and an other one which I have acquired in brand new ex-factory condition. I show the dramatic differences in set up, and then take the new one through my full new guitars setup process and also install a GFS X-Trem tremolo unit as a cost effective, fully reversible alternative to a Bigsby. Spoiler - I like it! It’s one of my longer videos but it covers a fair amount for ground, so grab a coffee and settle in!

How I brought a customer’s dusty, crusty and rusty 35 year old Squier that he thought was fit for the bin, back to life. As an early Korean S9 serial, completely original and never modified, it was worth the effort and looks and sounds great.
